Wandering Cattywampus
After returning from Southwest Utah, I found It difficult to regulate my emotional state without the presence of nature. Long hours of sitting underneath juniper trees were substituted for a continuous onslaught of instagram reels and I couldn’t shake the fact that I felt more connected 1,500 miles away in the desert.
Wandering Cattywampus is a body of work that views this yearning for connection and stability through the lens of the increasingly confusing social, political, and environmental climate that I returned to. This body of work hints that observation of the natural world is our last hope of preserving an autonomy over our individual attention and sense of clarity.
